Pieces of leftover veneer are pressed together to form a sturdy whole. For this serving tray, the industrial process of laminating is applied manually.

Normally, veneer is used to cover a less attractive material underneath. Here, veneer is used throughout the whole object. The layers are pressed together over a solid wooden frame. With this technique, the material is formed and strengthened, while the tray remains surprisingly lightweight.
